Find New Customers is the nicest and friendliest company in the btob marketing space today.
At our company, we know you have choices. There are numerous companies out there to help you fill sales funnels with quality sales leads. And they are all great companies.
So what makes Find New Customers different from all the rest?
I started thinking about this after I ran into an incident recently.
I was looking at a sales and marketing book contest and I noticed that a partner with the main sponsoring company had a book in the contest. Since half of the votes came from judges and I figured the sponsoring company was judging, this sounded fishy. (The partner in that company could simply vote for her own book.) If my company was sponsoring and I had a book, I would recuse myself. Some of the authors had been featured on Marketing Made Simple TV and others I’ve known for years. I reached out with my concerns.
I was having dinner with my family when my iPhone started buzzing like crazy. The emails started flying. They came from a “sales expert” in the UK who was running the contest. (I’m not one to throw anyone under the bus, so I won’t reveal his name.) But instead of asking a few questions about how I came to my conclusion, and setting the record straight, he proceeded to attack me, threatening to sue me and telling me his network was much bigger than mine, and that “I can crush you, Jeff!” His behavior was beyond the pale.
A simple misunderstanding (I am in no way saying the contest was unfair. It simply looked like it might be.) turned into threats and intimidation.
To have someone react with such venom over a simple misunderstanding made me think about how I could position Find New Customers. I found his behavior egregious, I bet you do to.
I prefer never to deal with hotheads like that and I bet you feel the same way.
That’s why I changed Find New Customers and our company profile on LinkedIn too to focus on just one thing.
