Please do NOT call Marketing Made Simple TV a web show. It is not. It is a TV show on the web.
TV shows all have three defining characteristics. Let’s look at each of these to see why it is truly a TV show.
On TV shows, the cameras switch from speaker to speaker. Web shows like Skype and Google Hangouts use fixed cameras. Marketing Made Simple TV features only the speaker(s), making it a TV show.
From Wikipedia: The term “B-roll” is now limited to secondary footage that adds meaning to a sequence or disguises the elimination of unwanted content.
B-Roll content, in our context, is information that appears over the shoulder of the speaker. It could be video clips, images of people, etc. Marketing Made Simple TV supports B-Roll content.
From Wikipedia: “In show business, the green room is the space in a theatre, studio or similar venue which accommodates performers not yet required on stage. The green room functions as a waiting room and lounge for performers before and after a performance, and during the show when they are not engaged onstage.”
On TV, the green room where the guest gets ready before appearing on stage. Make-up and microphone checks are two of the things done in the green room. Guests return to the green room after their performance.
Marketing Made Simple TV features a virtual green room – Skype and Google Hangouts do not. This is perhaps the biggest difference between web shows and TV shows
Please do NOT call Marketing Made Simple TV a web show.
